Edited by: John Blackthorn on 30/03/2010 16:26:10 The chat channels started to blink with a call to arms, EAK's dysprosium moon was under attack by Vangard. A moon that was recently taken from them. Scouts were sent in and it seemed Vangard had committed a decent amount of capitals and support, and looked like it was going to be a good fight. Dead Terrorists formed up a gang and I privately convo'ed Letino who was my alliance leadership contact and who invited Foundation to join them. I asked if he wanted titan support which he did.
The cyno was lit and we jumped in about the same size fleet that Vangard had fielded. And we started to fight it out. Ledah dooms dayed one carrier and was moving towards the pos shields when a new cyno was lit and Mostly Harmless jumped in a capital fleet mostly consisting of several titans, and mother ships, and perhaps a few normal carriers as well.
The ships that jumped in caused Ledah to bounced over 100km from the pos. And as soon as the ship stopped moving she went into warp. This is when things got screwy. The first issue was that she showed in warp but still taking damage and the ships showed up on the over view from a very far distance. We knew we were de-synced, she tried cloaking and the ship showed on her screen as being cloaked but still taking damage.
My two carriers were still at the pos and no longer showed her on grid. About that time one of my carriers was destroyed by a titan. I warped my pod to a safe spot but Ledah could not get the menu to warp to anything. She then decided to cloak. It still showed her taking damage for a while then it finally stopped. We thought about just logging at this point. But I guess we were so use to being de-synced with battleships that we typically try to wait it out rather than not being able to rejoin the fight.
At this point we knew we were cloaked in a bad spot and I warped my pod over at 100km to make sure she was cloaked, which she was. Then warped back out to the pos.
A few minutes past when we saw the hostile fleet warp in the direction of Ledah, but she still showed cloaked. Later it was revealed that one of the scouts found her just sitting there uncloaked. The hostile fleet warped in bubbled up and about the time she got into armor she uncloaked and her screen showed her being shot. She tried to turn on modules but most would not activate or they would blink on once and go off.
I think it was a good setup on the part of Vangard and Mostly Harmless, but I also think if she wasn't de-synced she wouldn't have lost the titan. And the de-sync had to be server side because we are on the same internet connection and neither of my carriers were de-synced.
